What is Vicinia in simple terms?

Vicinia is a super-simple app that helps neighbours and building administrators stay connected. You can share announcements, ask questions, chat, and make decisions without knocking on doors, printing documents, sending emails etc.

How will Vicinia help me — as a resident and as an administrator?

As a resident: It will be easier and faster to know what’s going on in your building, you can chat with neighbours, and get quick answers.

As an administrator: fewer emails, fewer complaints, and way less time wasted. Everything is in one place — and the residents will actually use it.

How much time and money can it save?

Imagine.... no more printing, no more drafting lots of emails, no more envelopes and stamps, no more printing and posting notices in the lift.....and no more answering the phone every five minutes. You’ll save time, money, and stress. Repairs won’t need to be constantly rescheduled. Neighbours make decisions quicker. The list goes on…

We are Administrators and we have software. What does Vicinia do?

We know you might already have the serious software — the one that speaks the language of taxes, invoices, and service charges. Vicinia speaks human. It’s the front-facing, easy, “hey-neighbour” tool that keeps everyone connected and informed. Because running a building isn’t just about numbers — it’s about people who live behind those numbers.

How much time does it take to get started?

A few minutes!. We set it up for you. There's a simple online form for your buildings details, and then off you go. No training needed. You can start posting announcements and uploading documents in minutes, and all residents can start accessing and using the app straight away.

I am a tenant and I rent. Can I use it too?

Yes, yes, and yes! Buildings only work if everyone is involved. Renters can access everything they need — announcements, discussions, questions — though some parts are restricted for only the Owners. But honestly, most renters don’t care about those bits anyway. This also means that Landlords don't have to keep passing information on...the tenants get all the information straight away.

What are the benefits of being an early user?

You get to try it for free, you can tell us what you would like in the next version, you can help build Vicinia to do what you need.

Can I use Vicinia in multiple languages?

Yes, si, oui, ja — the app supports English, Italian, French, and German. Each resident can choose their own preferred language.

What if I like it — is it going to cost a fortune?

Not at all. The building pays, not each resident. Vicinia costs around CHF a month…per building. So for a 10-unit building, that’s about the cost of a coffee per resident. And the trial period is completely free, and early users get an extended free period while we collect feedback.

Am I locked into a long-term contract?

Not at all. Try it, and if it’s not for you, you can cancel at anytime. No hard feelings.

I want full-blown accounting, tax reports, and detailed financial analysis.

Then Vicinia probably isn’t for you. We are here to help people share, discuss, and decide — not a full management platform. If you need in-depth financial reporting, tax advice etc there are other tools out there. Vicinia keeps things easy.

Will it solve all my problems?

Sorry — it can’t fix the lift, make your team win their match, or find your remote control. But it will take one headache off your list.

But I like those bits of paper stuck to the lift...

We don’t have a professional administrator — I manage the building myself.

Where is my data stored? Is it safe? Who can see it?

Important question and don’t worry. Your data is very safe. Everything is hosted on secure European servers and all data is only visible to people in your building (unless you choose otherwise). You can delete it at any time.

Where can I use Vicinia?

Vicinia works on your phone, tablet, and computer. And there is no complicated setup.

How will this help with the annual residents’ meeting (assemblea)?

We can’t take all the fun away — this important meeting still needs to happen!But Vicinia makes it much easier to organise and follow up. Use Vicinia to:
